Leaders focus on open, flexible multi-cloud strategies

Cloud adoption is a critical factor in an organization's overall digital transformation strategy, helping organizations innovate faster, secure data, and reduce their environmental impact. The research found that the majority of digital leaders* globally now design their solutions to be cloud-native. They also tend to use a layered architecture connected with APIs and distributed across multiple clouds.

Data is the most powerful driver of competitive advantage

The use of smarter data insights is a key booster of digital enablement. While the research revealed that data is the most powerful driver of competitive advantage today, the findings also showed that data is often left unexploited by organizations. Digital leaders, by contrast, use solutions to secure their data, generate business insights, improve customer engagement, and share their data safely.

It’s important to protect what’s important

76% of digital leaders have improved their confidence in data security, availability, and sustainability through going digital. The C-suites of digital leaders also prioritize cybersecurity and zero-trust architecture, which requires verification from all users to access data. And nearly all digital leaders are proficient in identifying, securing, and managing risk in cloud deployment.

Fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation

Digital leaders foster a culture of innovation through data-driven decision making and rapid adaptation. These companies also promote a strong, inclusive learning culture by prioritizing digital literacy and agile ways of working. Those skilled in cloud technologies and armed with tools for collaboration can accelerate their organization’s transformation. But a shortage of skilled workers has seen 4 out of 5 digital leaders plan significant HR investments in hiring and skilling in the coming years.
