More about The Princess Máxima Center
The Princess Máxima Center treats all children with cancer in the Netherlands, and it’s where all research into childhood cancer in the country takes place. This makes the Princess Máxima Center the largest pediatric cancer center in Europe. More than 900 healthcare professionals and 450 scientists work closely with Dutch and international hospitals to find better treatments and new perspectives for a cure.

All donations will be given to the LATER program
All donations will support the LATER program at The Máxima, an initiative dedicated to the long-term (LAnge TERmijn) health and well-being of childhood cancer survivors. The LATER clinic monitors survivors' needs across psychological, social, and medical dimensions. Ongoing research within the LATER program seeks to mitigate long-term health effects and enhance treatment protocols, with the overarching goal of ensuring optimal quality of life for all childhood cancer survivors, now and in the future.

Who can attend & what type of experience do I need?
Volunteers from all experience levels are welcome, from data enthusiasts to AI experts. We are looking for multi-talented teams. Below are some examples of possible team roles:
Is healthcare experience required to join this hackathon?
No, this hackathon is suitable for all industries. You do not need to have any experience in healthcare in order to participate (or succeed).
Do I need a Google account or environment to participate?
No, Google will provide the environment for you to participate.
What do I need to bring to the hackathon?
Please bring your own laptop and charger so you are able to code on your own preferred device.
Can I also participate if my team is smaller than 4-5 members?
Due to the competition element, we recommend teams of 4-5 participants from the same organization.
Are the enablement sessions mandatory?
We do recommend at least 1 team member to attend an enablement session. We will share valuable information about the hackathon which can advance your hacking skills.
Will the hackathon involve any patient data or PII?
The hackathon will not involve any patient data or Personally Identifiable Information to ensure strict patient privacy and confidentiality.
