GENERAL INFORMATION

What is Get Certified?

• The Get Certified Program is dedicated to individuals who would like to become Google Cloud certified in one of the following areas - Professional Data Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, Associate Cloud Engineer and Professional Security Engineer. The program consists of two stages: (1) Opening Week and (2) Certification Journey and requires a significant time investment per week.

When does the training start?

• The official kick‑off date is Tuesday September 12, 2023.

How do I know if I’m eligible to apply?

• Before applying, we suggest you consider the following: Do you work at a company or organization that uses Google Cloud? Are you based in EMEA? Are you able to invest the necessary time to complete your learning journey? If yes to all of the above, we’d love to have you in the program!
• Please remember, registrations and acceptances are on a first come, first served basis and require registration using a corporate email address. This email must be used throughout the duration of the program. Personal emails cannot be accepted. The program is exclusively for individuals based in EMEA.

What do I need to do to get my certification voucher?

• Once you have completed all of the eligibility requirements, moved through both Stage 1 and Stage 2 successfully, you will be qualified to receive an exam voucher at no cost to you.
• In Stage 1 - the Opening week, all attendees must attend the Open Day and complete the required number of labs. All labs need to be completed within the confines of this program. Labs by the same name completed outside the timelines of this program cannot be counted as credit for completion within Get Certified.
• In stage 2 - the Certification Journey: Participants must complete a specific number of badges depending on the learning track before they can request an exam voucher. Labs by the same name completed outside the timelines of this program cannot be counted as credit for completion within Get Certified.
• When the program kicks off, during stage 1 you will be granted 7 days access to all learning platforms and training exercises necessary to qualify for stage of the program.
• If you qualify for stage 2 of the program, you will be provided with a full 9 weeks access to Skills Boost and coursework necessary to complete the learning path you have started. If you need further access, this might accrue some cost to you, depending on how long you’d need the additional access for.

How much does the program cost?

• This is a no‑cost offering.

How do I know if I’ve been accepted into the program?

• After your registration, we will review your application. Within 7 days, registered participants will receive either:
• (a) get a confirmation their seat is secure if they accept all terms and conditions OR
• (b) a message that they are not eligible for the program because they did not agree to all terms and conditions or are outside EMEA.

Why did I get rejected from the program?

• If you received a rejection email for the program, it is likely because of one of the following issues:
• (1) your registration was completed with a personal email address
• (2) you did not agree to the timelines or terms & conditions
• (3) you are registering from outside of EMEA.

When do registrations close?

• The registration deadline for this program is 2 September, 2023. However, due to limited capacity we may have to close program registrations early at any time before 2 September 2023. We appreciate your understanding.

Can I share this with my friends? Can I post this on social media?

• We’re glad that you want to share this program with others who may benefit from it. If you decide to do so, please keep in mind that program restrictions and terms & conditions will apply to anyone who decides to reister.

The program mentions a 9‑hour per week commitment, and instructor‑led training: does this mean there are 9 hours of face‑to‑face sessions every week for 8 weeks?

• The total time commitment is 9 hours per week. It includes live, instructor‑led sessions, study time, labs and other activities pertaining to each learning path. Please seriously consider the time commitment for this program before you decide if you want to take part.

What time will the live sessions take place and will they be recorded?

• All live sessions will be held during EMEA business hours (UK/London). Unfortunately, the sessions will not be recorded.

What happens if I fail my certification?

• We hope that the content within the journey is more than enough to prepare you for your certification. However, should you not pass your exam, please be aware that we can only provide one voucher per participant, so you’ll have to pay to retake the exam.

What if I can’t sit the exam within the program timelines?

• If you do not use your certification voucher to attempt the exam within the program timeline, your voucher will expire and you will not be eligible for another one, unless you pay for it personally.

How long is my certification voucher valid for?

• Certification vouchers issued as part of this program expire on 31 January 2024.

Will there be more opportunities like this from Google in the future?

Why isn’t there training for Machine Learning?

• We are excited to continue to make innovations and advancements in Machine Learning and Generative AI space and about the huge number of requests we have received to support ML learning paths. We will continue to plan ahead for additional capacity and are exploring how we can expand the program to accommodate other learning paths. We believe that these technologies have the potential to revolutionize the way we learn and work, and we are committed to making them accessible to everyone.
